Civil War US 4.62-inch 12 Pounder Mountain Howitzer Limber with four pack ammunition chests and
tool box on front of cart. While wood work on the caisson is reproduction, all the Iron work is original.
The Caisson was pulled by a Mtn. Howitzer Limber. The Mountain Howitzer for field service was issued
one limber to pull the carriage and an additional limber to pull one Caisson issued with the M1835/36
US Mountain Howitzer. These pieces would offer a museum quality addition to the Mountain Howitzer

M1835 US 4.62 Mountain Howitzer Pack Ammo Chest for use with the early bronze Barreled mountain howitzer. Exc condition. 90% of the oilcloth cover remains on lid. All the dividers for the 12 pounder rounds, and it used roped handles with chains at rear for use with pack saddle. The later Mtn. Howitzer chests had steel handles and feet for use with limber. This is an early one for use with the Small Carriage and Pack saddles. Very Rare. $3250.00
